VISION: To heal our world through music and wordsWednesday Feb 08, 2012Welcome to our 2011-2012 Season

    Choral Mentorship Program

The Choral Project and San Jose Choral Productions is preparing for the 4th year of its Choral Mentorship Program. This program offers students who meet the entrance criteria and who exhibit the ability to rehearse and perform advanced choral literature a unique opportunity to perform with The Choral Project. If you are, or know of, a student with a talent and passion for choral music, please pass this information on to them.

    Acceptance

The Mentorship Program is open to all enrolled high-school students (grades 9-12). A maximum of eight students (two students per part: soprano, alto, tenor, and bass) per year are admitted into the program at the sole discretion of The Choral Project Mentorship Program Committee. All applicants will be notified in writing of their admission or non-admission into the program.

    Term

Students will rehearse on Monday nights with The Choral Project for approximately 12 weeks. This schedule starts on January 10, 2011 and culminates with concert performances on March 26 & 27, 2011 at Mission Santa Clara.

    Rehearsals

Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings, beginning at 7:00pm and ending at 10:00pm at Le Petit Trianon, 72 North Fifth Street in San Jose. If possible, we arrange the rehearsals so that the pieces the students rehearse are done first, so that they can leave by 9pm. There is also a dress rehearsal on Wednesday, March 23rd, 7-10pm that the students must attend. The students will be given an information packet listing their obligations at or before the 1st rehearsal.

    Acceptance & Awards

Each participant will receive a $150 scholarship and a certificate of completion. The concert marks the culmination of the program. The students will also be recognized in the program and during the concert performance on March 26 & 27, 2011.
